Circles of Shame

Oh dear. The level of desperation from the right is almost palpable these days. Over at National Review (also cross-posted at his blog), the delightfully named Bill Whittle has dredged up a 2001 tape in which Barack Obama said the civil rights movement had become “court-focused” when he felt it actually needed to “put together the actual coalitions of power through which you bring about redistributive change.”

Ah ha! There’s that awful word again: “redistribution” (aka: socialism, Marxism, Communism). Obama also said “the Supreme Court never entered into the issues of redistribution of wealth” — so again, he clearly was advocating socialism. More proof that he’s a commie bastard.

“He’s at the end of the line now,” says Whittle after spiraling through his Dante-inspired rhetorical escapade. “This discovery will hurt Obama much more than Joe the Plumber,” And this final gem: “There is a special hell for you ‘journalists’ out there, a hell made specifically for you narcissists and elitists… a fiery lake of irrelevance, blinding clouds of obscurity, and burning, everlasting scorn.”

Well, that was rather laughably flamboyant, don’t you think?

  1. What, you don’t think that “a fiery lake of irrelevance, blinding clouds of obscurity, and burning, everlasting scorn.” isn’t high comedy? I did a full Danny Thomas spit-take when I read that.

Palin’s “War on Science”… well, that brings me to another post I’m working on at the moment, so thanks for that.
