OMG! We’re All Al Queda Now…

Based on the intrepid investigative efforts of Fox News and Liz Cheney’s tax-exempt “Keep America Scared Shitless Safe” political action committee, extreme radical liberal MSNBC TV host “Rachel Bin Maddow” exposes the pervasive activities of a nefarious terrorist sleeper cell that’s alleged to have infiltrated all aspects of the American government and mainstream media.

I suggest that Liz Cheney and her cardiac-challenged father, former shadow-President “Dick” Cheney be immediately transported to Gitmo and ruthlessly interrogated with “enhanced methods” of questioning (which are not torture!) until such time as they fully disclose every detail of exactly what they knew and precisely when they knew it regarding this latest terrorist conspiracy.

  1. There are times when I want to be a fly on the way in the Cheney household. Are they all really this crazy, or is this all as cynical as I tend to believe?

  2. Not that this is related to the post – it’s good to see you’re still goin’ strong. Hope you’re well, my friend.

  3. When I first read about this bile, I thought that it was absolutely disgusting and vile — even for the likes of a Cheney. To me, it was beyond comprehension that anyone would go after those who are upholding the constitution and rule of law by providing legal representation to those accused of a crime. But then again, nothing seems beyond the pale when it comes to Republicans attacking their “enemies”.

  4. Trusty — Nice to hear from you. Doing well enough, I suppose, all considered. Life sucks in many respects, but that’s hardly anything new or worth moaning about.

  5. “Not that this is related to the post”

the fact that your comment wasn’t limited to “omg! are you kidding me?” made it abundantly apparent that you would be straying off-topic.

  6. Sam Stein:

The backlash is growing against Liz Cheney after she demonized Department of Justice attorneys as terrorist sympathizers for their past legal work defending Gitmo detainees — and now it’s coming from within deeply conservative legal circles.

On Friday, the conservative blog Power Line put up a post titled, “An Attack That Goes Too Far.” Author Paul Mirengoff, called Cheney’s effort to brand DoJ officials the “Al Qaeda 7,” “vicious” and “unfounded” even if it was right to criticize defense lawyers for voluntarily doing work on behalf of Gitmo detainees.

Reached on the phone, Mirengoff offered an even sharper rebuke, contrasting what Cheney is doing to the anti-communist crusades launched by Sen. Joseph McCarthy and, in some respects, finding it worse.

…Liz Cheney is a mother of several children and I wonder what kind of fear they are growing up with.

  7. This is an aside. It isn’t difficult to understand why the Harper Government wants to sell off the CBC to private broadcasters. This country will be in a sorry mess if CBC is sold. We will not ever get unbiased reports again. Please protest this attempt to let CBC go.

  8. Wait, wait… the conservatives are turning on Liz? Does that mean it’s not true? The Obama administration isn’t thoroughly infiltrated by trainees from Waziristan?

Well, shit. Now what am I gonna do with all this Al Qootie Spray repellent I bought from the guy on TV?

  9. As I blogged Saturday, supporters of the slightly left side of politics should, in fact, be worshipping at the feet of these ignorant, small-minded “conservatives”, as the more pervasive they become, the more likely it is that, in the long run, they alienate the great middle.

Clearly, the over-whelming majority of voters sit very close to centre. By adopting stupid and simple-minded concepts of “conservatism”, a party risks making themselves little more than characatures.. the “Yosemite Sams” of politics.

So – those who prefer a more “leftish” government should be very happy that loons like this exist and are so public in their stupidity.

  10. “This country will be in a sorry mess if CBC is sold.”

Gawd you Liberals are the peak of stupid………………….unbiased reporting my ass.

How’s the ghost infestation going Martin?

  11. CWTF.. not if you listen to the WildRose supporters they don’t.

The reason the Liberals can’t get traction is contrary to stereotype, the Conservative government in Alberta largely governs from slightly right of centre.. spending on education and health care typically exceeds other provinces, we have a concerted attack on homelessness that other provinces do not, and our “safe communities” initiative is based not on “locking up the badguys”, but on involving police and social service organizations in helping attack the core problems of violence – hardly a simplistic approach, I hate to say, “a la the Federal Conservatives”.

But, the point is still that clowns like the Cheney’s and the Bush’s hardly do favors for those who, like myself, like to consider themselves somewhat “thinking” conservatives.

  12. we have a concerted attack on homelessness
Is that what you call a drunken Klein shouting at “bums”?

  13. You know that Cheney has wondered pretty far off the reservation if she has the likes of Lindsey Graham admonishing her:

“I’ve been a military lawyer for almost 30 years, I represented people as a defense attorney in the military that were charged with some pretty horrific acts, and I gave them my all,” said Graham. “This system of justice that we’re so proud of in America requires the unpopular to have an advocate and every time a defense lawyer fights to make the government do their job, that defense lawyer has made us all safer.”

  14. Good call CC.. as a lawyer, I’ve often given the same response, particularly when I did criminal work.. and Graham is bang on.

But then, again, such is the example of a Republican party who crows about personal liberty and the constitution, yet, from Nixon, to Reagan, to Bush and the Bush II, no one has abused the U.S. Constitution more than Republican presidents.

Their view of the Constitution is it only benefits those who are “like us”.

  15. “…a party risks making themselves little more than characatures”

They make themselves into sausages and prosciutto? The word is charcuterie. Nice to see you trying to expand your vocabulary, but hot dog might have worked better for you.

  16. Rob — Their view of the Constitution is it only benefits those who are “like us”.

It amuses me no end how malleable the Constitution is in the hands of those who claim to favour “strict construction” of what they conveniently imagine to have been the supposed “intent” of the founders.

  17. I think it behooves everyone, particularly conservatives, to imagine a world where THEY are in the shoes of the people that ARE NOT like them.

What sort of policy would I suggest if I were poor, or disabled?

Policy cannot be written only from the vantage point of the power elite. To have efficacy, it has to speak to all, not just some.

  18. So what’s up with the Liberal Female appearance anyways?

From judges to talk show host, they all seem to have this butch dyke super freak hair do?
