Meeeow

Michael Moore made a whole documentary about President Bush playing golf? Gee, I must have missed that one. Hmmm. Funny that neither Ms. Perino or any the Friendly Fox folks mentioned the fact that while Dubya may have given up golf (for the sake of the troops he’d sent to fight his illegal wars), he nonetheless spent fully one-third of his presidency on vacation.

I could only take 30 seconds of Perino’s “Chatty Cathie” voice.

“That’s nice dear. Now let mummy have the phone…”

  2. Heh. That whole F&F crew makes my stomach turn. I can’t decide which one of them I despise the most — they’re all just wretched beyond belief.

Steve Doocy is the most contemptible for me. He epitomizes “confidently stupid”. Ok, maybe Glenn Beck has him beat there, but his last name rhymes with douchy. He wins on the FAF panel for sure.

Even the name Fox and Friends sounds like a children’s show. I thought that’s what it was when I first saw it on the channel guide.

I made it to 49 seconds before its idiocy triggered sudden-onset metabolic syndrome, the worst effects of which I narrowly averted by spending thirty minutes on the treadmill.

Red Tory: come for the invigorating discourse; stay for the threat of premature cardiovascular disease! ;)

Maybe if the Rogue One gets a talk show it could be called Palin n’ Pals.

  7. SF — …its idiocy triggered sudden-onset metabolic syndrome…

And this from a teacher! :)

I think the danger lies more in the potential for an aneurysm than a cardio-infarction.

Here I was, sliding happily towards middle-age, become calmer and more philosophical about the nature and inevitability of human ignorance and then..Bang! Dubya, the neocons and 9/11.

Never had I imagined that well-educated people would or could mobilise utter cretinousness so effectively.

    Evil people really do exist.

  9. Ditto. Things really went into the crapper post 9/11; but to be honest, they’d been relentlessly headed in that direction ever since the ascendancy of Reagan and the “supply-side” neo-liberals.

By the time Bush came along, we had the realization of worst of both worlds: neo-liberal domestic policies driven by an exploitative form of crass globalization and neo-conservative foreign policies motivated by American hegemonic fantasies and a delusional concept of democratization.

We can get exorcised and we are just looking in.
What must it be like for a Bill Moyers who actually lives there and shares a nationality with them. So many of them.

  11. Thanks for the sympathy. It’s not easy living among such people.

  12. Naomi Klein has said that as Canadians we’re in an enviable position of being on the world’s largest one-way mirror — we can see in to all facets of America, but they can’t see us.

Exercised, yes, but Exorcised? LOL. Well, maybe we do vent our demons vicariously through our friends south of the border.

I just heard he’s retiring next April. I wonder if PBS will look for a suitable replacement?

I dunno. As I get older I see the Canada/US border as more of a semi-permeable membrane. Right now ‘stupid’ has leeched in an affected our politics and media. The same ‘stupid’ that hit them almost 20 years ago.

Something sold to us as choice.

Being in front of a one-way mirror doesn’t mean we’ll learn the right lessons.

  16. I laugh at how the left will not accept that Obama is president. Obama breaks a Bush record in only 9 months and instead of talking about about this slacker, Bush is brought back into the fray. Its typical.

  17. I laugh at how mindlessly incoherent you are.

I laugh at how he refers to himself as a writer.
