Cotler Shreds Defamatory Flyer

Not literally (although I wish he had just for effect), but figuratively. Perhaps it’s high time the Liberals started vigorously debunking Harper’s vituperative propaganda more immediately and hitting back with some vicious groin kicks of their own. Enough of this “nice guy” bullshit — it sure hasn’t done much for their standing with the public to date, so what’s to lose? Besides, as Frank McKenna said the other day, the only way to deal with “thugs” is to fight back.

Note: The audio seems to be wonky on this video, so you really have to crank the volume. Maybe they’ll re-post it with better quality (hint, hint).

Update: Ariela Cotler also fires back at the latest Conservative smears.

I find both the Conservatives and the Liberals pathetic in their sucking up to Jewish votes instead of fairness and a certain neutrality…

This week, I also received a 32 pages “Parliamentary Report” from Cotler…. He seems to be spending more time out of Canada than actually working for his constituents… pathetic (wanna copy Red?)

  2. Sure, I’d be curious to check it out.

    HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You Lieberal wimps couldn’t fight your way out of a wet paper bag>>>>>>>>>>>>>LMAO

Tu brasses la merde avec une très grande cuillère, toi. Aurais-tu d’autres compétences par hazard?

Really, CWTF, your shit-disturbing on this is becoming insufferable. You can’t expect every gesture by everyone to be the resolution to a complex issue. The focus here should be on the lies and the hate propaganda (falsely accusing people of moral corruption is hate-mongering, no matter what the issue is) that the Harper government is distributing at taxpayers’ expense and which is dividing Canadians.

I agree that this pandering should be insulting, not just to Jews, but to all of us. I don’t know why we’re not hearing more objections from the Jewish community for being singled out, targeted…starred, if you will…like this. Seems they, among all people, would feel a little uncomfortable about that.

In this venue, I’d suggest fighting back would also involve destroying troll commentary by deleting it.

Hey I sent you an email to the gmail email account..the only one I have for you.

    I hope you got it. x’s 50!!!! 🙂

    On that we can agree.
So instead of setting the record straight, the Liberals go on a Jew Love fest, sucking up to Israel any way it can.
Yes, it is a complex issue from not wanting to negotiate with an elected government because they have been put on a “terrorist” list, while seemingly giving carte blanche to a warlord in Afghanistan…

As for the Cotler, his brochure is full of the normal pandering that would be make Connies proud. About half the pages talk about Iran and anti-semitism…

  8. Ti-Guy

What “Jew Love Fest?” This is Irwin Cotler refuting the baseless claims in piece of hate propaganda.

As for the larger issue, you know exactly why no party can set the record straight. The gotcha vultures in the media are ever poised to jump on the smallest slight. They even jump on each other.

We should stop expecting that from politicians altogether for the time being and pay attention to those organisations that really are concerned about democracy, rule of law and human rights and of course, matters of fact. At this point, I don’t think any government in the World cares about those things.

My expectations run a little higher…

I’m seeing a slight shift at the municipal levels, lets hope it transpires up… (my cynicism level is rather high).

Red, I’ve tried both emails I had for you with bounce backs…

  10. Ti-Guy

My expectations run a little higher…

You’re in for a lifetime of disappointment if you look to politicians for clarity. I don’t even like talking to Liberal politicians face-to-face. I always get the feeling I’m being felt up.

  11. CWTF — You probably sent it to my old Shaw account. It’s now mrayner59@gmail.com.

  12. You Lieberal wimps couldn’t fight your way out of a wet paper bag

Originality not your strong suit it seems, Boob. Go back to jacking off to your Mom’s Chatelaine magazines.

  13. I always get the feeling I’m being felt up.

Yes, there’s nothing worse than that “felt-up” feeling. 😉

Just try to be less…provocative, Ti. You may be sending out the message that you want to be felt up. It helps to avoid cologne, keep your eyes on the ground, and wear bulky, unattractive sweaters.

The comment section at iggy should toughen up mckenna story is hilarious. One commentator suggesting, when the Conservatives get their majority, the “TD bank will suffer mightily”, oblivious to the irony one would hope.

  15. Congrats on the b-day, Red. Fifty down; fifty more to go!

  16. Ti-Guy

Just try to be less…provocative, Ti.

And what would that be for a politician? Dead?

  17. Congratulations on your birthday! Have an excellent one!

  18. Ti-Guy

The comment section at iggy should toughen up mckenna story is hilarious.

Oh, God, I didn’t need to read that. Connie after Connie (basement dwellers, every last one of them) claiming that they’re pulling their business from the TD Bank.

Which is worse? The thuggishness or the grandiosity?

  19. SF — Thanks. Although I don’t imagine it for a moment to be a half-way point. At least I would hope not! Perhaps another 20 years of “fun” ahead. That would be about the right measure, I think.

  20. Oops. I trashed Boob’s latest comment. How careless of me.

  21. I trashed Boob’s latest comment.

Think of it as more of a re-trashing–like when one throws back a piece of rubbish that a strong wind has dislodged from one’s trash can.

  22. He can re-post his rubbish if he want to… Most of the time I ignore it, but today I just felt like capriciously tossing it in the gutter where it belongs.

    Dion’s wife’s erased Facebook letter on the state of the LPoC;

    http://thestar.blogs.com/politics/2009/11/pentup-but-also-current-liberal-bitterness.htmlHer

Facebook post speaks volumes about the state of the party (and has now, reportedly been deleted.) With thanks/credit to the Globe, here’s the translation of the now-erased entry.

It’s been a year and one week since I last wrote on my blog. Ah! “la présidente” is lazy. But we have to take action now.

The Liberal Party is falling apart, and will not recover. Like all liberal parties in Europe, it will become a weakling at the mercy of ephemeral coalitions. By refusing the historic coalition that would have placed it at the helm of the left, it will be punished by history.

Anyway, I became convinced of it the moment that Paul Martin treated Jean Chrétien so cavalierly. The party died at that moment. If the Toronto elites had been more in tune, humble and realist, Stéphane would have been willing to take all the time and absord all the hits needed to rebuild the party. But they couldn’t swallow the 26%, and now we are at 23%.

The time for choices is now. I don’t want to see the Conservatives continue to change my country. They are, slowly, like any dictatorship, changing the world. Torture doesn’t exist, corruption is a fabrication. Do we really have the right leader to discuss these questions? Can someone really write these insanities and lead us to believe that he simply changed his mind? In order to justify violence, he must have engaged in serious thought. Otherwise, it’s very dangerous. How can we be sure that he won’t change his mind one more time?

The party grassroots had understood all of that, and the average citizen is starting to understand it too. Ignatieff’s supporters have not done their homework. They did not read his books, consult his colleagues. They were satisfied that he could be charming at cocktails. Some of them are outraged now. I am hearing: Why did no one say it? We told you loud and clear, you didn’t listen.

I am starting a serious reflection. I will not give my voice to a party that will end up in the trashcan of history. I am looking around me, and certain things are attractive. Like a dedicated party that doesn’t challenge its leader at every hiccup in the polls. A party where the rule would be the principle of pleasure, and not assassination. A party where work ethic and competence would be respected and where smiles would be real.

    Maybe I’m not dreaming.

    “La présidente.”

  24. Bob Bruce

THe gutter is where you live Martin……….LMAO

  25. I’d be careful there, Boob. If you laugh your ass off, your head is likely to incur some collateral damage in the process.

  26. CWTF

I think that Janine Krieber’s little note is rather to the point and precise.

While the focus will be on what she writes about Iggy, this is pertinent:
The time for choices is now. I don’t want to see the Conservatives continue to change my country. They are, slowly, like any dictatorship, changing the world. Torture doesn’t exist, corruption is a fabrication.

You see Boob, she has only echoed what many cognizant Liberals have been saying for months.

  27. Ti-Guy

I wonder under which bed Ted Betts has been hiding lately. I’ve wondered that before.

  28. Bob Bruce

“cognizant Liberals”, now there’s an oxymoron.

Dion will jump to join Jack, too funny.

  29. CWTF

    Boob Fuck off.

  30. You Lieberal wimps couldn’t fight your way out of a wet paper bag>>>>>>>>>>>>>LMAO

Good grief – anyone who’d get inside a wet paper bag and try to fight their way out is rather stupid. What happened – your bag dry out?

The fact that Harper is now using religion as a weapon is about as low as you can go….I say that because everytime I think Harper couldn’t get any lower, he comes up with another low worse than the last.

  31. TofKW

“The Liberal Party is falling apart, and will not recover.

Boob, Harper and the populist dipshits will not be the government forever. Only Alberta mindlessly continues to elect the same corrupt maggots election after election, the rest of Canada realizes you need to change the maggots for lesser maggots every few election cycles. Once Harper is finally unemployed would you really like the see what the NDP would do once in power?

Also, I’m still waiting to see the complete and utter destruction of the Liberal party that I had once hoped for back since ’84, or the same one that Harper’s been promising for the past four years. Good luck with that.

PS – Fuck you and anyone who looks like you.
