“Diversity Über Alles”

Trust hateful right-wing ideologues and inveterate Islamophobes like Michelle Malkin to exploit the tragedy at Fort Hood for their own cynical purposes — in this case to not only demonize all Muslims, but also to broadly denounce the “false god” of cultural “diversity” (which is kind of ironical considering the source). Also nice how she snuck in a little Nazi reference there…

Perhaps a more sensible response might be that of Sean Linnane (pseudonym of a retired U.S. Army Special Forces Combat Diver, NCO now serving in other capacities…) who argued that focusing on a murderer’s creed misses the point:

Terrorists all the same, regardless of ideological or political stance – that is all posturing. Example: in the 1980s the Great Socialist People’s Libyan Arab Jamahiriya mounted a bombing campaign against U.S. and British targets in Europe. Several of the bombings were carried out on their behalf by the Baader-Meinhof gang, a secular group of Communists…It doesn’t matter whether it’s Islamic-themed, or Neo-Nazi, or Communist-inspired, terrorism is always the same: it is sheer lunacy, plain and simple.

The fact of the matter is that fanatical zealotry and other such varieties of mental derangement come in all forms.

Um, sure. Except most terrorists are Muslim.

  2. Thanks for the overwhelming fact-based evidence there…

How many Muslims were terrorizing England during “the Troubles”? Oh, right… NONE!

  3. Guzzeuntite

Other than just about every single significant terrorist attack in the world and forgetting about just about all significant global strife, there is no reason to fear Islam.

Just ask the Jews … or Larry Silverstein.

  4. Guzzeuntite

“Thanks for the overwhelming fact-based evidence there…”

Oh, go to hell. If you think there is no evidence for my statement, then you are even more deluded than I thought … or more dishonest.

God, what an idiotic thing to say!

  5. I’m inclined to side with Dawkins et. al. on this matter and be wary of religion in general as it’s so easily “radicalized” and tends to abstract and denigrate temporal existence in favour of some fictional “after-life”…

  6. and….motor cycle gangs, Mafia, pro-lifers that kill doctors are terrorists…..and they’re not Muslim.

  7. Two words: Timothy McVeigh.

Where was the right-wing outrage then?

  8. Dan — You beat me to the punch. But if Guzzeuntite needs additional evidence that insanity is non-denominational, the s/he might want to research the roots of the KKK, the “Army of God” and other such crazed sects…

  9. Ti-Guy

Um, sure. Except most terrorists are Muslim.

I’m going back to the old saw that I abandoned a few years ago: one man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter. It matters not at all anymore whether morally- and intellectually-vacant “Judeo-Christians” (*snort*) think the distinction between one group of people labelled “innocent civilians” and another one labelled “collateral damage” is significant.

If they had managed to marginalise people like Our Lady of the Internment Camps here, I might still care about nuance.

  10. TofKW

    “Except most terrorists are Muslim.

    Right!

Beware of Islamo-fascist groups such as the Tamil Tigers, IRA/Red Hand/Ulster groups, Euskadi Ta Askatasuna (ETA), Revolutionary Armed Forces of Columbia, Shining Path (Peru), Revolutionary Struggle (Greek), United National Liberation Front, All Tripura Tiger Force & several others (India-Hindus), International Sikh Youth Federation, and many, many more if I wished to bother.

And of course, let’s not forget our own Franco-Islamists of the FLQ.

  11. Well, terrorism can coalesce around religion or any ideology.

The Shining Path, the Tamil Tigers, Red brigade, the Basque ETA had no religious roots. The Lord’s Resistance Army is Christian based. The ANC was considered a terrorist organization but now is a legitimate government.

As Ti-Guy said, what terrorism is is pretty fluid.

  12. TofKW

    Agreed! 😉

Actually shooting down Guzzeuntite’s batshit statement was dreadfully easy. Though I’m certain s/he will be unconvinced. Minds filled with ignorance, prejudice and fear don’t let little things like those pesky facts get in the way.

  13. Unlike most BT sites, Guzzeuntite is free to argue his/her case here without any “moderating” hindrance or censorship, but likely will not. Which only goes to prove that such people are intellectually vacant trolls and/or spineless cowards.

  14. Omar

Um, sure. Except most terrorists are Muslim.

The RCMP have been responsible for more terrorist attacks on ordinary Canadians then any individual Muslim or Muslim group ever will be. I feel less secure around those authoritarians then any brown-skinned person who may be sporting a beard and off-shore accent.

  15. Guzzeuntite

No one has “shot down” my statements. All you dishonest fools have done is show me some exceptions to the rule. Why don’t you read what I said instead of attacking straw men. I did not say, “ALL terrorists are Muslim.” I said, “Most terrorists are Muslim.” That is a fact. If you bothered to take the time you would find that most terrorist acts are committed by Muslims and most deaths by terrorism is the result of Muslim actions.

The left loves to deny this fact, ignore the evidence, and bring up whenever possible so-called Christian acts of terror, but their feebleness blinds them to the aphorism, “the exception that proves the rule.” It never ceases to amaze me with what great alacrity the left is ready to ignore, deflect, and excuse Islamic brutality. It is a truly disturbing psychosis. The most RT can say is that the “event” was a “tragedy.” Gee, thanks for the heartfelt thought, Shakespeare.

Oh, and I love the ubiquity of the Timothy McVeigh example — as if he were a Christian — submitted for the viewing pleasure of all us “batshit” Islamophobes.

  16. Guzzeuntite

Ya gotta be retarded or a morally bankrupt Leftist to say this (but I repeat myself.)

“As Ti-Guy said, what terrorism is is pretty fluid,” says the retarded parrot.

  17. Guzzeuntite

“The RCMP have been responsible for more terrorist attacks on ordinary Canadians then any individual Muslim or Muslim group ever will be. ”

God! The idiocy never ends here. You, Omar, win the prize.

    Ever will be.

  18. That is a fact. If you bothered to take the time you would find that most terrorist acts are committed by Muslims and most deaths by terrorism is the result of Muslim actions.

Source for this assertion? Because it makes no sense whatsoever. I’d like to see the raw data you used to arrive at this conclusion. Do you have a list of events that you used to count?

  19. Guzzeuntite

Find it for yourself, fool. It’s out there. if you are too lazy to find it … try reading the paper.

    Sheesh.

  20. And it never ceases to amaze me that the right loves to make fact free assertions and then when called on it insist its true, even if there is no way to prove it.

It’s the ultimate version of narcissism. The world must simply conform to their worldview.

  21. Guzzeuntite

“Because it makes no sense whatsoever.”

A close runner up to Omar Ibn Retardi.

Find it for yourself, fool. It’s out there. if you are too lazy to find it … try reading the paper.

    Sheesh.

So ya got nothing to back up your assertion and have to call people names. Figures.

You do understand that not every terrorist event is reported in western papers and paper generally only report what interests their readers.

  23. Guzzeuntite

“And it never ceases to amaze me that the right loves to make fact free assertions and then when called on it insist its true, even if there is no way to prove it.”

Are you serious? Really, are you? No way to prove it? You have got to be kidding. Of course there are statistics out there on terrorism and who commits it. I once educated one of the dimmer bulbs out there on the web, Palieidieiaiaie by name. I won’t do it again. Try Google, knucklehead.

Holy. Fucking. Shit. You people are willfully blind.

  24. Guzzeuntite

“So ya got nothing to back up your assertion and have to call people names. Figures.”

No. I refuse to waste my time trying to reason with a stump.

“You do understand that not every terrorist event is reported in western papers and paper generally only report what interests their readers.”

Uh huh. Believe what you want, chief, about “unreported” Christian terrorism, but don’t try to tell me that it’s fact.

So if its out there, post it. If its so easy to find, then find it instead of wasting your time telling me it’s there.

YOU made the assertion. The onus is on you to prove it.

Stupid so dense that not even light can escape it, you are.

  26. TofKW

“Find it for yourself, fool. It’s out there. if you are too lazy to find it … try reading the paper.”

Umm no. You want to paint with broad strokes, please provide links and numbers to prove the vast majority of terrorists are Muslims.

  27. No. I refuse to waste my time trying to reason with a stump.

A stump is about the only thing a person with your reasoning skills can persuade.

Uh huh. Believe what you want, chief, about “unreported” Christian terrorism, but don’t try to tell me that it’s fact.

So it’s not a fact that papers are more interested in what happens in areas that are in the west or in the west’s strategic interests (oil) than terrorism say… in west Papua, Sierra Leone, Uganda or Sri Lanka? Really? You are that dump?

The Stupid is even worse than I thought.

  28. Guzzeuntite

“Umm no. You want to paint with broad strokes, please provide links and numbers to prove the vast majority of terrorists are Muslims.”

Umm … figures. The Left is seldom interested in the truth. It’s the narrative that matters.

  29. Guzzeuntite

“A stump is about the only thing a person with your reasoning skills can persuade. ”

    Humor ain’t your forte.

  30. Guzzeuntite

    “POT KETTLE BLACK”

    I’m rubber and you’re glue.

  31. TofKW

I take your lack of an answer as proof that you are full of shit. Incidentally I am not a lefty, and I gave you plenty of facts showing you’re wrong.

  32. TofKW

Obviously we’re dealing with someone who has the intellect of a 5-year old.

  33. Unfortunately, Gazzuntite is typical of mindless right-wing bigots who are too phenomenally LAZY and/or intellectually indolent to back up their bogus assertions with facts, but instead attempt to just speciously place the burden on others to disprove them. Well, sorry Sneezy, but it doesn’t quite work that way here in the reality-based community…

  34. Guzzeuntite

“Stupid so dense that not even light can escape it, you are.”

And … we have a winner of the Yoda sound-alike contest!

    Toujoursdan!

Fool so profound surprised you to fuction are able am I.

  35. Guzzeuntite

“I take your lack of an answer as proof that you are full of shit. Incidentally I am not a lefty, and I gave you plenty of facts showing you’re wrong.”

What fact, exactly, proved wrong the statement “most terroists are Muslim”?

  36. What fact proved it correct again? Where is this list you insist is out there?

  37. Guzzeuntite

“Unfortunately, Gazzuntite is typical of mindless right-wing bigots”

    What was bigoted?

“… who are too phenomenally LAZY …”

True, if by lazy you mean I tried teaching a stump once, and I won’t do it again. But I AM surprised none of you have ever been curious enough to look at the stats.

    “… and/or intellectually indolent …”

Uh … isn’t that the same thing as “lazy.”

“to back up their bogus assertions with facts …”

You’re saying they’re bogus does’t make them so. PROVE they are bogus.

“but instead attempt to just speciously place the burden on others to disprove them.”

As I said, prove they’re bogus.

“[I]t doesn’t quite work that way here in the reality-based community…”

Now, I see that a sense of humor is YOUR forte.

  38. Guzzeuntite

“What fact proved it correct again? Where is this list you insist is out there?”

You seem to have a definitional problem, chief.

Try Websters for these two words: (1) Most and (2) All.

  39. Hey, I am waiting for even “most” to be proven. Where is the list that shows that “most” terrorism is perpetrated by Muslims. Where is it. YOU made the assertion. The onus is on YOU to back it up. Otherwise it’s just more hot air.

  40. Guzzeuntite

Let me put it this way, chief:

Do you beleive most terrorists are NOT Muslim?

  41. Guzzeuntite

    Eye before E.

  42. Guzzeuntite

Let me give you doofi a hint in your search:

    There is no “list.” Jerks.

It’s a statistical compilation of incidents and the perpatrators. Sorry, but you’ll have to crunch numbers and dive deeply into the data.

For you brainiacs who actually believe in the tooth fairy, Santa Claus, and hoards of Christian terrorists, I have nothing to offer you except a heartfelt recommendation to fifth floor padded cell in Bellvue.

  43. Sneezy — Your argument is ridiculous. Make an assertion and then DEMAND that others disprove you. Uh huh…

Sorry, been there done that countless times over and don’t care to waste my time on such folly.

If Google is your friend, then you should have no problem whatsoever “proving” that you’re correct, right? As I said, the onus is clearly on you in this instance.

  44. Ti-Guy

The biggest terrorist organisation in the World is the The United States of America.

    Oh, bee-you-teeful, for spacious skies,
    For amber waves of graaaaaain….

  45. TofKW

Guzzeuntite, this is my final post on this matter. You came in here calling us names, and without facts to justify your statements call most terrorists Muslim. Then you have the gall to insist we look up your ‘facts’ for you.

There are numerous communist groups still operating over many nations in South America, southern Africa is full of tribal guerrilla gangs, India alone consists of dozens of Hindi and Sikh terrorist organizations. Europe has ETA, at least two active Greek groups, some thugs still frightening people in the Balkans and the Caucuses, plus the diehard ex-IRA members who refuse to lay down their arms.

I will admit the vast majority of terrorists within the Middle East and northern Africa are Muslims, but not worldwide.

  46. Guzzeuntite

“Your argument is ridiculous. Make an assertion and then DEMAND that others disprove you.”

Tough titties, RT. I don’t have the time. If you are so convinced that there are untold (and unreported) numbers of Christian fundamentalist hoards out fuckin’ dive bombing office buildings, strapping bombs to their bodies and intentionally murdering hundreds of innocents, burying bombs in the middle of highways and setting them off via cell phone, cutting off the heads of journalists with knives and posting the horror on the internet, advocating the killing of non-Christians, etc. … why … YOU prove it.

Because I gotta tell ya, the cover-up
looks pretty damn good from where I’m standing.

  47. TofKW

I hope the people of the Caucasus don’t take offense at my blunder above.

  48. It’s a statistical compilation of incidents and the perpatrators. Sorry, but you’ll have to crunch numbers and dive deeply into the data.

So where is the raw data? What time range are you using? What are the original sources (i.e., what news source originally reported it)? Where are the news sources located?

  49. Guzzeuntite

“The biggest terrorist organisation in the World is the The United States of America.” — Ti-Guy

Oh, it’s true! And we suck at it too. All those nukes going to waste … And the delivery systems we have … all unused … when there are so many potential victims to go after: You know, all the brown people we hate: Nuke ’em. The Mooslems: Nuke ’em. The Nips and Chinks: What would a decent terrorist do?

    Nuke ’em. Nuke ’em all.

  50. Guzzeuntite

“Guzzeuntite, this is my final post on this matter.”

That’s sad. So sad that I couldn’t bear to read it.

    Sorry.

  51. When the facts are not on the side of these gassy windbags they invariably duck out by insisting that “YOU” go look it up online and demonstrably prove them wrong… Which is kind of an interesting and highly cynical wager, when you think about it… Essentially, it costs them nothing — presuming you take up their challenge — as it wastes all sorts of otherwise useful time and tedious effort proving them clearly wrong… But in the end, it means absolutely nothing, because they will simply ignore any evidence produced and will simply move on with completely glib insouciance and total disregard to make their groundless “faith-based” assertion all over again…

  52. He’s probably talking about the U.S. interventions/invasions or arming of right-wing insurgent groups in nations that didn’t threaten the U.S., like: Haiti (repeatedly), Dominican Republic (repeatedly), Indonesia (which caused the deaths of 300,000) , Philippines, Columbia (still occurring), overthrow of Allende in Chile, Grenada, Panama, Nicaragua, Guatemala, El Salvador, Bolivia, Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan, the overthrow of the Hawaiian monarchy, Cuba (pre and post Castro), threats against Venezuela, etc., etc., etc.

  53. Ti-Guy

I hope the people of the Caucasus don’t take offense at my blunder above.

As a Caucasian, I am very offended. 😉

  54. But in the end, it means absolutely nothing, because they will simply ignore any evidence produced and will simply move on with completely glib insouciance and total disregard to make their groundless “faith-based” assertion all over again…

On the brilliant blog “Balloon Juice” they call this “re-bunking” a debunked assertion.

  55. Ti-Guy

Mention these things and the average American cocks his head like a puppy and goes “Hurr?

Al Qaeda has nothing on these guys.

  56. Sneezy — Tough titties, RT. I don’t have the time.

Neither do I. But then I’m not condemning a billion people or more people in a simplistic blanket, and quite frankly racist manner, or casting them all under an immediate veil of suspicion.

  57. Guzzeuntite

“When the facts are not on the side of these gassy windbags they invariably duck out by insisting that “YOU” go look it up online and demonstrably prove them wrong… Which is kind of an interesting and highly cynical wager, when you think about it… Essentially, it costs them nothing — presuming you take up their challenge — as it wastes all sorts of otherwise useful time and tedious effort proving them clearly wrong… But in the end, it means absolutely nothing, because they will simply ignore any evidence produced and will simply move on with completely glib insouciance and total disregard to make their groundless “faith-based” assertion all over again…”

Blah, blah, blah. Why not anwer my simple question? Do you really, sincerely, and truly believe that most terrorist incidents, resulting in the greatest casualties, are NOT committed by practioners of the Religion of Peace?

Are you and chief really under the impression that there are (what?) 4 or 5 Muslim terrorist organizations? Do you doofi really beleive that, by enumerating these piddling few non-Muslim — often Leftist (surprise!!) — terrorist groups, you have somehow “proven” that most terrorists are not Mulism? Can you be that dumb? Chief seems to think Muslim terrorists are limited to the Middle East. Well, there no accounting for a lousy edumakashun, but … wow!

And if you won’t take my word that the data is out there — that I’ve seen it and analyzed it — well, I’ll have to live with that.

Believe me, I’ll get over the deep sense of disappointment.

  58. Dan — Juan Cole is one of my faves and that just reminded me why….

  59. Do you really, sincerely, and truly believe that most terrorist incidents, resulting in the greatest casualties, are NOT committed by practioners of the Religion of Peace?

I do believe this. The most terrorist incidents, resulting in the greatest causalities were committed by White European derived Christians.

    By far, no question.

  60. Guzzeuntite

“Al Qaeda has nothing on these guys.”

As I said: It’s true. So, when will we start droping the bombs of you poor, stupid Canucks? You seem to all think we covet you water. Why don’t you just hand it over, losers, and save yourself the radiation burns?

  61. Guzzeuntite

“I do believe this. The most terrorist incidents, resulting in the greatest causalities were committed by White European derived Christians.”

Don’t be an asshole in addition to being an idiot, chief. Let’s talk about the here and now.

  62. Sneezy — And if you won’t take my word that the data is out there — that I’ve seen it and analyzed it — well, I’ll have to live with that.

And yet, it all somehow mysteriously eludes your recall and linking capabilities.

p.s. Why would I take the “word” of an anonymous cretin who’s demonstrated no integrity or intellectual honesty online?

  63. So now that we have shown that the assertion is false, the frame of reference is changed.

    Another right-wing tactic.

  64. Let’s talk about the here and now.

I am. Iraq didn’t invade America. America invaded Iraq.

The Palestinians didn’t ask to be driven off their land to establish a Jewish state, the British decided it was to be so.

The Saudis didn’t ask to be put under a totalitarian regime propped up by western oil money and U.S. troops, we chose to prop up Wahabi Islam because we need their oil.

The Muslims in Thailand and Philippines didn’t ask the Europeans to draw boundaries that put them under the thumb of non Muslims. Europeans drew the boundaries without regard to those who actually lived there.

    I can go on.

  65. Highly mobile goalposts… 😉

  66. Guzzeuntite

“I’m not condemning a billion people or more people in a simplistic blanket, and quite frankly racist manner, or casting them all under an immediate veil of suspicion.”

Mr. Straw man, neither am I. How is saying “most terrorists are Muslim “condemning a billion people,” and how is it “racist,” or (saddest of all) “casting them under an” … blah, blah?

And if it is all that, how does chief escape being called those things and more by saying “I do believe this. The most terrorist incidents, resulting in the greatest causalities were committed by White European derived Christians.”

There you have it: There are billions of Christians that chief has condemned. He is using frankly racist language with his “white Europeans.” I won’t even mention chief’s casting of a blanket, but boy did he ever cast it.

  67. Ti-Guy

So, when will we start droping the bombs of you poor, stupid Canucks?

As soon as you find “Canada” on the map?

  68. I am not saying most terrorists are white European Christians. I am saying that the most terrorist incidents resulting in the greatest casualities were committed by White European Christians.

Two very different statements. Nice try though.

  69. Guzzeuntite

“I am. Iraq didn’t invade America. America invaded Iraq.”

Whoops, chief. You and I are done. You are a racist and a caster of blankets. So, I won’t even bother to go into you obvious confusion as to what terrorist is with the invasion of Iraq thing, the Hawaii thing, the Israel thing, etc. (you fuckin’ anti-Semite racist blanket caster). However, if you really want to go defining words in your own special way, why, you just go right ahead, ittums.

  70. Guzzeuntite

“As soon as you find “Canada” on the map?”

    Easy. It’s America’s hat.

    Shitty, cold, desolate place, though.

Yeah, it’s a pretty crappy hat.

  71. sassy

RT – when you wrote “..hateful right-wing ideologues and inveterate Islamophobes ..”, did you ever think that one of them would be commenting here today?

  72. sassy

whoops forget to close the italics before the endquote

  73. Guzzeuntite

“I am not saying most terrorists are white European Christians. I am saying that the most terrorist incidents resulting in the greatest casualities were committed by White European Christians.”

Will the racism never stop? What’s your problem with white people, chief?

  74. Let’s see then:

Al Qaeda, Sept 11: 14 terrorists, 3000 dead
Palestine: 140 terrorists (suicide bombers), 542 deaths

U.S. Invasion of Iraq (“Shock and Awe” which directly means “killing and frightening civilians to subdue the country” which is the USMC definition of terrorism) : a handful of terrorists commanding a gullible army, over 1 million dead

By those stats, I think he’s right. Most terrorists are Muslim. But the non-muslim ones are much more deadly.

I’m not sure anyone can win this game.

  75. The Stupid is going to cause a warp in the universe.

The terrorism found in Israel and Iraq started in direct response to the invasion and overthrow the Iraqi regime and the driving of Palestinians off their land by the British and America.

You must understand what fraudulent intelligence is. You simply must.

Nice try with the anti-semite tag. How typically right wing. There are many pro-Jewish people who find Israel’s treatment of the Palestinians appalling. I don’t believe that Israel’s treatment of the Palestinians is a good witness on the Jewish people.

  76. Guzzeuntite

You sort of ruined the impact of your comment, Sassy.

    Too bad.

  77. Will the racism never stop? What’s your problem with white people, chief?

None. I am one. What’s our problem with brown people, pissant?

  78. Sneezy — And still no evidence…

Apparently y0u have all sorts of time to denigrate others, so why not spare some of that to quote your references. Malkin? Pam Geller? Gates of Vienna?

  79. Ti-Guy

    Easy. It’s America’s hat.

Did you ever notice that America looks kind of like a toilet in cross-section. And guess who’s sitting on it?

    Ha ha. Zing! I win.

  80. Guzzeuntite

“Nice try with the anti-semite tag. How typically right wing. There are many pro-Jewish people who find Israel’s treatment of the Palestinians appalling.”

Shut the fuck up, you anti-Semite racist Jew-hating caster of blankets.

  81. [Unfunny conservative “humour” alert]

  82. Guzzeuntite

“Did you ever notice that America looks kind of like a toilet in cross-section.”

Nope. But I did notice that Canada looks like a barren frozen empty dank wasteland.

And that’s because it IS a barren frozen empty dank wasteland.

  83. We’ll I’ll let Sneezy have his little temper tantrum. Dinner calls.

  84. Guzzeuntite

“Unfunny conservative “humour” alert” – RT

Aw … and after I complemented you on your sense of humor.

  85. Guzzeuntite

“We’ll I’ll let Sneezy have his little temper tantrum.” — chief

That’s mighty white of you, racist.

  86. And that’s because it IS a barren frozen empty dank wasteland.

    Fuck you. QED.

  87. Guzzeuntite

“What’s our problem with brown people, pissant?” — Chief

And the winner of liberal heart-on-the sleave ersatz wailing “we white people are so mean”!

    “Our,” he says. Our.

I have zero problem with “brown” people, doucherino. You likely do. (As a matter of fact, you just admitted it.) Include me out.

Thank you, you racist Jew hating nasty piece of work. Cast thine blanket upon thy own visage.

  88. sassy

    Nice video – thanks 🙂

  89. And the winner of liberal heart-on-the sleave ersatz wailing “we white people are so mean”!

    “Our,” he says. Our.

Putting more words in my mouth to construct your strawman. You are really going down in flames.

I have zero problem with “brown” people, doucherino. You likely do. (As a matter of fact, you just admitted it.) Include me out.

Let’s see, pissant. You assume that most terrorist are Muslim, and we know that most Muslims are brown. I said that I think brown people should be treated better than they have been. So maybe in right-wing-bizarro world i have a problem with brown people but in the reality based community that wouldn’t be the case.

Thank you, you racist Jew hating nasty piece of work. Cast thine blanket upon thy own visage.

My Jewish partner and family will find this so amusing. So would these people: Jews for Peace Even they roll their eyes when right-wingers try to shut down any critical discussion about the policies of the current Israeli government by invoking the anti-Semite card.

  90. Guzzeuntite

But, really, I do congratulate Canada on its thin line on non-artic wasteland that hugs the border of the US of A.

Good work, really. All the world admires you for your sliver of habitable land. It’s most excellent.

  91. Sassy — Glad you enjoyed it. Victoria is a very nice place.

Sneezy — Your pic didn’t come up (a personal experience you’re no doubt deeply familiar with) but I noted it was searched on the expression “arctic wasteland”…

That would about as representative as this:

  92. Guzzeuntite

“You assume that most terrorist are Muslim …”

I don’t assume it, racist chief. I know it.

“… and we know that most Muslims are brown.”

Here it comes … therefore, Guzzeuntite is … RACIST!!!!!

” I said that I think brown people should be treated better than they have been.”

You did? Where? How did I miss it?

“My Jewish partner …” Well GOOD. FOR. YOU. chief! Wow! A Jewish partner. Fancy that. Like, therefore, you CAN’T be anti-Jewish. Right? ‘Cause that would be, like, impossible. Right?

    Right.

  93. Guzzeuntite

“I noted it was searched on the expression “arctic wasteland”…

That would about as representative as this:”

Not really, RT. Canada is 99.99% nasty bits. Appalachia is pretty small … and mostly gorgeous. Even that screen cap is not so bad.

  94. Sneezy — Straightforward question: Have you ever traveled to Canada?

  95. I don’t assume it, racist chief. I know it.

Yet you STILL can’t back up that assertion.

Here it comes … therefore, Guzzeuntite is … RACIST!!!!!

    Bigoted, obviously.

You did? Where? How did I miss it?

You seem to miss a lot of things. Maybe you were dropped on your head as a child or not given enough oxygen after birth. Maybe it was home skooling. I have never understood the world of wingnuts.

“My Jewish partner …” Well GOOD. FOR. YOU. chief! Wow! A Jewish partner. Fancy that. Like, therefore, you CAN’T be anti-Jewish. Right? ‘Cause that would be, like, impossible. Right?

    Right.

It certainly is anti-Semitic to assume all Jews must hold the same opinion about Israel. You must believe that they aren’t capable of thinking for themselves and coming to different conclusions, like the rest of us can.

But I am not. I know they are as diverse as the rest of us. So I’m not the anti-Semitic one.

  96. Ti-Guy

    Arctic Wasteland:

  97. p.s. I could have thrown up far more harrowing images/videos of the hollowed out rust belt in Ohio, Michigan and other states of the mid-West if you want to play that game…

  98. Guzzeuntite

“Even they roll their eyes when right-wingers try to shut down any critical discussion about the policies of the current Israeli government by invoking the anti-Semite card.”

    Bingo! Ding! Ding! Ding!

You finally hit on it chief. You stumbled onto my point. Did you notice? Probably not, chief.

    Try this dimwits:

“They roll their eyes when left-wingers try to shut down any critical discussion about the policies of the Muslim world by invoking the Islamophobia card.”

    or this:

“They roll their eyes when left-wingers try to shut down any critical discussion about the policies of the liberal or leftist government by invoking the racist card.”

And the card is dealt daily.

    As RT would say:

    Fuck you. QED.

  99. Guzzeuntite

“p.s. I could have thrown up far more harrowing images/videos of the hollowed out rust belt in Ohio, Michigan and other states of the mid-West if you want to play that game…”

And I could post pictures all day of the other 99.98888888889% of that regretable country, the Queen’s most sad dominion.

  100. Guzzeuntite

Give it up Ti-Guy. Canada blows. Thats why it’s so empty.

  101. Guzzeuntite

“Sneezy — Straightforward question: Have you ever traveled to Canada?”

    Yes, many times.

  102. Talk about dimwits. Yet ANOTHER false equivalency.

“They roll their eyes when left-wingers try to shut down any critical discussion about the policies of the Muslim world by invoking the Islamophobia card.”

You aren’t talking about the Statist policies of the Muslim world. You stated that most terrorists are Muslims, casting an aspersion on them. Big difference, but probably too subtle for your mind.

“They roll their eyes when left-wingers try to shut down any critical discussion about the policies of the liberal or leftist government by invoking the racist card.”

And this makes no sense at all.

And the card is dealt daily.

    As RT would say:

    Fuck you. QED.

    LOL. Nice try.

  103. Sneezy — Really? Then either you’re a LIAR or completely blind.

p.s. Most of America is “empty” as well…

  104. Sneezy — Really? Then either you’re a LIAR or completely blind.

p.s. Most of America is “empty” as well…

Who cares? Canadians are physically taller on average, better educated, healthier, will live longer, have much lower crime rates per capita, live in more livable cities and are better liked abroad than Americans will ever be.

    They’re just jealous.

  105. Guzzeuntite

Chief, you are too clueless for me to continue with you.

Now I must conclude that you are a run of the mill racist. A self-hating one, but a racist nonetheless. Go back to your self-hating Jewish partner and eat dinner.

  106. Ti-Guy

Canada blows. Thats why it’s so empty.

No, it’s just cold. And badly lit.

Chief, you are too clueless for me to continue with you.

In other words pissant, you have been pwned by several people and can’t even begin to address the inconsistencies in your assertions. Got it.

Now I must conclude that you are a run of the mill racist. A self-hating one, but a racist nonetheless. Go back to your self-hating Jewish partner and eat dinner.

And you would conclude wrong, but that seems to be par for the course.

Actually, this is the part that really sucks to be a Yank:

  113. Guzzeuntite

“Canadians are physically taller on average,”

There are fewer brown people in Canada, you racist. What’s your problem with Latinos, you freakin’ anti-beaner?

    ” …. better educated,”

Never seen no evidence of that, retard. You ‘splain why so many annoying Canucks come south for education. Judging from your skills, you weren’t one of ’em, though

    ” … healthier,”

Must be the cold air and alcohol. You people are well-preserved, I admit.

    “… will live longer,”

Read: Higher suicide rates from the S.A.D. suffers.

“… have much lower crime rates per capita,”

Not necessarily. Besides, this sounds racist to me. You got a problem with black people too, blanket caster?

“… live in more livable cities …”

    You can’t mean Toronto.

“… and are better liked abroad than Americans will ever be.”

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

The finest, purest Canadian myth of most awesome self-congratulation and dilusion. This one defines the word “Canadian.” So insecure, they convince themselves they are loved the world over.

Chief, the rest of the world is like, “Canadian? Che cosa?” “Que es?” “Quoi?” “WTF? You mean someone from like the upper upper Midwest?”

    “They’re just jealous.”

    Projection, thy name is chief.

  114. sassy

TofKW – that link explains it all. 🙂

  121. I think Sneezy has made her point(s). Best put on “ignore” henceforward…

  122. Guzzeuntite

Pathetic attempt at sexist insult, RT.

So, to finish, then: You people accuse me of some sort of anti-Muslim racism, Islamophobia, and some wierd other sins against the leftist cannon, but it is you who have demonstrated that which you accused me of. To wit:

    1. Racism (chief)
    2. Anti-Semitism (chief)
    3. Sexism (RT)
    4. Blanket-throwing (chief)

Chief, you win, you dispicable human being. You disgust me and make me want to throw up a little.

  123. Sneezy — There’s empty and arable and nice and there’s empty and not arable and frozen solid. You got a problem with arabs too? Besides, similar land area; dissimilar population numbers. Therefore, America is less empty.

Never mind your pathetic attempt at a joke, it seems you’re shifting the goalposts again… Now it’s a question of “arable” land?

You’re full of shit. Having lived in some of the most northern and ostensibly forbidding climes of Canada, I can attest to the fact that they have their own charms too… Lot to be said for the waves of ice crystals glistening in the crisp morning sky in Edmonton, the Northern Lights shimmering at night with fluorescent glory overhead, the awesome beauty of the northern lakes, or something as simple as the stubble of prairie wheat fields glazed with frosty snow.

Not sure where you’re coming from, but I find you tiresome, boorish, and pointlessly argumentative.

  124. Ti-Guy

Man, you really need to get laid. When the last time you had a good shtupping? A shag? A proper bout of rumpy-bumpy?

  125. Ti-Guy

Sorry. That last comment was obviously meant for Sneezy.

  126. Guzzeuntite

Holy crap, RT, talk about purple prose. Ti-Guy is right. You need to get laid.

As for me … I think I still have Collette’s number somewhere. I think the area code was somewhere around Edmonton, where the waves of ice crystals glisten in the crisp morning sky.

  127. TofKW

I think RT could figure that out Ti 🙂

Undoubtedly, Guzzeuntite is unabashed supporter of the US Republican party, and as such probably requires this  to help in that regard.

  128. Sneezy — I get laid on a fairly regular basis. And I’m not apologetic for waxing a bit “purple” about the romantic charms of the prairies… Something that would probably escape you down there in Connecticut.

  129. Ti-Guy

I think I still have Collette’s number somewhere. I think the area code was somewhere around Edmonton, where the waves of ice crystals glisten in the crisp morning sky.

    Have to *that* far, eh?

TofKW: this one doesn’t even have a credit card. I say we pass the hat…

  130. jkg

So, for those of us who are interested in this topic and actually researched it, I attended a lecture on the roots of terrorism by Jan Fedorowicz, who is anything but a ‘leftist.’

As an historian, his presentation focused on a very fascinating, yet very true premise: While ‘terrorism’ may have been in some different forms before the 20th century, it’s actual roots of how we know it today came from, and this is where it gets interesting, Europe.

I cannot remember all of the lecture as I was very tired, but there are a few points that stuck out:

1)Terrorism has to be earth shattering in the sense that a single act can geopolitically realign parts of the world. The first instance of such an act is related to the First World War, specifically, Gavrilo Princip, whose assassination of Franz Ferdinand effectively resulted in the First World War, altering the European powers.

    2) Terrorism is first and foremost a tactic meaning it is blind by any religious or cultural predispositions. People who use terrorism ensure three elements that are apparent (the third I forgot in his lecture), communication and calculation. A most recent example of would be 911, Osama Bin Laden effectively achieved what he intended: By declaring the War on Terror (again a tactic), OBL was elevated to the same level of a nation-state, thereby legitimizing his objective and causes. Had Bush treated this as enforcement and policing issue like the British did with the IRA, OBL’s 911 attack would have achieved far less that what was desired.

    3) Being a tactic, it is a conflation to consider terrorists and freedom fighters as equivalencies. Why? Freedom fighters are motivated by a cause or have an objective by which terrorism could be used as a tactic. The term terrorist itself is rather a nebulous for this reason.

    4) European organizations who employed terrorism in fact exported these techniques abroad to organizations that may have little if not tangential confluence of interests. For example, the IRA helped out the Basque separatists. The Basque separatists have had a long history of providing logistical support to the Algerian Islamic Group (now known as the GIA), a group that has almost the opposite aim of the Basques. These two a established facts with the latter appearing in general summaries about the Basques like here .

    5) There is no doubt that islamic organizations employ terrorist tactics, but as it stands, the paradigm of modern terrorism was European in origin and religiously blind.

Jan Fedorowicz is also a write for the esteemed Economist , so I trust his credentials and research enough to know that he doesn’t even fall into the trap of insinuating that Muslims have a predisposition towards terrorism. The fact of the matter is that it is an intersection of cultural and geopolitical factors in which religion plays an interacting role.

He is nominated for the TVO best lecture series. I do not know if they archive all the videos taken, but if it is, hopefully you will be able to see it on the site. If not, look him up, a very interesting man.

  131. Guzzeuntite

“Have to [go] *that* far, eh?” — Ti-Guy

Where else can you go to get laid where the stubble of prairie wheat fields is glazed with frosty snow in early November?

  132. Guzzeuntite

“Sneezy — I get laid on a fairly regular basis.” — RT

Easy there, hoss. I didn’t mean to ruffle your feathers.

… but thanks for letting us know.

Here in Connecticut, where I work, the only lights shimmering at night with fluorescent glory overhead are my office lights. They also buzz like languid cicadas. Decidedly not romantic; however, it’s also good to know than energy efficient lighting gets your juices flowing.

Connecticut: There’s a lot to be said for the waves of newly printed dollar bills glistening in the crisp morning sky in Greenwich, the office lights flickering at night with fluorescent glory overhead foretelling of massive incentive bonuses to be earned, the awesome beauty of the receptionists and admin assistants looking for a horny sugar daddy to get them out of Queens and into a Mercedes Benz, or something as simple as the stubble of an unshaven face lying on a disheveled desk at 7 in the morning, mouth glistening with drying saliva white as the new-fallen prairie snow, telling of an all-night effort to close the latest acquisition of an overpriced company destined to be the next big failure.
