Draining the Fever Swamps

Conservative blogger John Henke discusses his efforts to undermine the influence of the extreme right-wing website World Net Daily.

It should be interesting to see how badly mauled this guy gets by the radical right for his troubles.

Regarding Maddow’s first question about what to call the latest faction of nutty right-wing conspiracy theorists who believe that a proposal to beef up relief efforts during natural disasters is actually a secret plan to set up “concentration camps for political dissidents, such as occurred in Nazi Germany” — how about “FEMA Campers”? Seems like a natural to me.

  1. John Henke is doing the work of saints.

  2. i prefer a more devilish approach. the key can be found in henke’s “hideously embarrassing”; i facetiously embrace these notions, in hopes of embarrassing adherents with my mockery.

does it work? who fucking cares.

  3. Unfortunately, they’re impervious to mockery or sarcasm.

That’s already been happening since his call to sanity.

WND is a far-right fringe site? Nah, they’re about the same as a right-wing version of The Nation. Now, Stormfront now that IS a fringe right-wing website.

The Republicans are in disarray, and they’re flinging as much mud as possible to see what sticks as any disorganized opposition party in their position would do. I could fetch several liberal forum comments (allegations of vote rigging or whatnot) from the aftermath of the 2000 and 2004 elections to prove my point.

I suspect that Orly Taitz (de-facto leader of the birther movement) is being funded by a lefty kleptocrat to discredit the Republicans. Nietzsche said it best: “The easiest way to destroy a cause is by becoming it’s most excessive advocate”.

Lol – Obviously you have no understanding of the Democratic party. I wish they were that organized.

  8. i’ve been telling the birfers that the cia cooked up the whole scheme, with the intent of frustrating them with so many bum leads and dead ends that one of them will finally lose a nut and go rogue.

    ain’t i a stinker?!

  9. Sorry, but World Nut Daily is NOTHING like The Nation.

Yeah, concerns about election fraud = claiming the president is a manchurian candidate and that the United States government is setting up concentration camps. Fuck me.

  11. Oh jeeze….. can you imagine how persecuted the Canadian Sentinel must be feeling just now — he has a habit of quoting WND and now a prominent American Conservative has essentially called him a loonie.

…. poor Scenty, now he has to fight the Liberals, the Communists, the mainstream media, alien invaders, assorted godless hordes seeking to destroy all that is good and right in the world today, AND the international Conservative fifth column.

I’ll tell ya, the wingnuts have a strong case for a class action suit against the Wingnutdaily’s of the media for turning them into the irrational, paranoid loonies we see before us.
