  1. It’s not just the absence of humour…it’s anti-humour.

Sean Hannity is one of the people I’d have a very hard time not hitting in the mouth if I were ever to meet up with him personally. Even if I knew nothing about him, he has that perfect Backpfeifengesicht.

  2. It’s funny if you imagine him continuing to act like he did on SNL but in congress. Like imagining Regan to continue acting like a movie cowboy after he was elected president, or Bush to act like a frat boy. Hmmm.

Franken’s comedy always had a huge element of social, cultural and political critique. I imagine that sensibility translating well into office. Reagan and Bush however, where just empty vessels. Mediocrities in their previous lives which didn’t much change after taking office.

I hope this time Americans learn to solidify Dubya’s reputation before he dies or becomes “afflicted with Alzheimer’s” so there’ll be less chance of revising it and mythologising it after he’s no longer around. But I doubt that’ll happen, since forgetting/re-inventing its history is a feature of the American identity.

  4. There was one pretty funny part of the video, actually.

The words stayed up long enough for any normal person to read them a dozen times over.
