  1. Things are looking incredibly well for Franken. That total of +251 for Franken takes in to account all of the challenged ballots from both sides. The remaining votes to be counted are the challenged ballots in which both campaigns withdrew their challenges and the absentee ballots Olbermann mentioned. In either case, the Star Tribune is projecting Al the winner by about 80 votes — and that’s without the absentee ballots which, is projected, would only increase Al’s lead. Short of the MN SC saying otherwise, it would seem that Al’s going to be our next US Senator!!

  2. Hey, by the way, who’s your senior senator?

Well, it’s currently Coleman. 🙂 Once Franken gets in, then it will be Amy Klobuchar who got elected in 2006.

  3. Never heard of her.

Klobuchar ran for Mark Dayton’s (D) seat once he said he wouldn’t run for re-election. She is a lawyer (as usual) and was a county attourney, a prosecuter and worked for the same law firm that Mondale used to. Nothing too flashy in there, but she was fairly in line with the Minnesota DFL.

  4. Another question for you…

In the event that both Senate seats are vacant how is it decided who takes which class (senior/junior)? Or does that just never happen?

I think that’s a pretty rare possibility since they’re elected 2 years apart. Maybe they settle those rare occassions like they do for exact ties…a coin flip (seriously).

  6. “Now let’s see if he can live up to his role model”

are there any doubts? not much shady area with al; you know what you’re getting in him.

  7. Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better in US politics, the guy who wrote “Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Idiot” is going to the Senate. Sweet.

I wonder if he will get a chance to lay down some of his Jagger stylings on the Senate floor?

  8. “I just can’t shake the wanker, victim, fictitious character”

at least he draws the line at second-bill to a trained chimp.
