Trust hateful right-wing ideologues and inveterate Islamophobes like Michelle Malkin to exploit the tragedy at Fort Hood for their own cynical purposes — in this case to not only demonize all Muslims, but also to broadly denounce the “false god” of cultural “diversity” (which is kind of ironical considering the source). Also nice how she snuck in a little Nazi reference there…
Perhaps a more sensible response might be that of Sean Linnane (pseudonym of a retired U.S. Army Special Forces Combat Diver, NCO now serving in other capacities…) who argued that focusing on a murderer’s creed misses the point:
Terrorists all the same, regardless of ideological or political stance – that is all posturing. Example: in the 1980s the Great Socialist People’s Libyan Arab Jamahiriya mounted a bombing campaign against U.S. and British targets in Europe. Several of the bombings were carried out on their behalf by the Baader-Meinhof gang, a secular group of Communists…It doesn’t matter whether it’s Islamic-themed, or Neo-Nazi, or Communist-inspired, terrorism is always the same: it is sheer lunacy, plain and simple.
The fact of the matter is that fanatical zealotry and other such varieties of mental derangement come in all forms.
Bill Maher justifies his recent comment on CNN that America is a “stupid country” (if in doubt, simply refer to this post earlier today or visit the comments section of Michelle Malkin’s website any old day of the week).
Not that I’m altogether keen on “nut-picking” but it’s impossibly hard to resist when dealing with the Malkinettes:
Time for all 50 (well 49 Hawaii wouldn’t dare turn it’s [sic] back on dear leader) States to delcare [sic] sovereignty or better yet offer up succession [sic] legislation!!!
Fish, a barrel, a smoking gun…
That’s the understated way in which Michelle Malkin described recent comments of Fox News “strategic analyst” Lt. Col. Ralph Peters about Pvt. Bowe Bergdahl, the American soldier captured by the Taliban.
After first stating that “we must wait until all of the facts are in to make the final judgment,” Peters then went on to call Bergdahl “an apparent deserter” (based on little more than that “nobody in the military that I’ve heard is defending this guy”), accused him of “collaborating with the enemy” and stated definitively that “we know this private is a liar.” He added that “the media… should not portray this guy as a hero” and suggested that if he is indeed a deserter, “the Taliban can save us a lot of legal hassle and legal bills” (presumably implying he’d be quite happy if they simply executed him).
As Lt. Paul Rieckhoff said on the Rachel Maddow Show, maybe Peters just “needs to shut his mouth.”
Interestingly, for whatever reason, Malkin’s website seems to be down this morning (“Error establishing a database connection”), however a copy of her post can be seen here (I bet the comments were pretty interesting…)
Update: Evidently, Malkin had some server issues this morning. So, here’s the link for the post in question. As expected, many of the comments are, as David pointed out “strangely hateful and full of rampant, idiotic speculation. And lots of blame for Obama.”
Let the fun begin…
Bill O won’t be the only one Franken drives totally f#@%ing crazy (or should I say, crazier).
Update: Speaking of which…
If wishes were horses, etc. Bit of an imaginative stretch to suggest that anyone was actually “calling for murder” isn’t it?
If there’s one thing amongst right-wing bloggers that’s in even shorter supply than humour, it’s irony.
Snarling fascist Shih Tzu Michelle Malkin presumes to explain why Obama is “comedy-challenged” and can’t tell a good joke. Need I say more?
