I’m not quite sure why it’s felt necessary to constantly provide us with the Premier’s reactions to the performance of the Vancouver Canucks in the NHL playoffs. Oh, right… It’s all an analogy to his own winning political team. After all, nobody was paying much attention to his hapless bunch of overpaid stickhandlers throughout what might be called the regular season, but now the “playoffs” (read: election) are here, it’s suddenly the focus of rapt attention and rabid, irrational partisan fervour.

It’s part of a Vancouver Sun-initiated blog called Faceoff, where both Campbell and James blog about the Canuck’s playoff run. Campbell seems to be getting a little more into it than James. Frankly, while I’m not a Campbell fan in the least and would tend towards the opposite, my opinion of him has become less negative.
smart politics; even despite the obvious pander. hate to agree with BCer, the libs are looking less bad in this campaign. the àxe the tax`campaign hasn`t hurt. the fact gordo has reinvented himself from rabid ideologue on First Nations issues and the environment to a more pragmatic style certainly helps.
