“Road to Recovery”

gop-failure

One of a series of clever parodies of the Party of No’s 19-page, number-free “budget” released last week. Many more variations at Driftglass.

Related: “Area Man Releases Proposal for 2010 Federal Spending Priorities” Onion fans will get the reference, I presume. Ezra Klein demolishes the so-called budget with great wit, although it has to be said that the funniest part comes straight from the Republicans themselves in the form of the dumbass graphic representing their health care plan. Hilarious.

  1. When I read Klein’s article the other day, I thought he had invented that graphic for comedic effect. But no. Those “flowcharts” (?) are peppered throughout the actual GOP document. Howlingly stupid.

  2. Unbelievable. I loved the way Klein put it:

It’s like someone showed them a flowchart. Once. And only for a few seconds. And refused to explain it. My editor Ann Friedman just walked into the room. “It looks like they’re building a budget molecule,” she said.

    A “budget molecule”… too funny.
