Statement from James Dobson read on the Laura Ingraham radio show, February 5, 2008:
Today the Associated Press reports, “Conservative Christian leader James Dobson has softened his stance against Republican presidential hopeful John McCain, saying he could reverse his position and endorse the Arizona senator despite serious misgivings. ‘I never thought I would hear myself saying this,’ Dobson said in a radio broadcast to air Monday. ‘… While I am not endorsing Senator John McCain, the possibility is there that I might.’”

Ah, those Christian Righters … they certainly can’t sit this election out, what with “B. Hussein Obama” facing off against McSame, can’t they?
They may not like everything of the new GOP landlord, but the GOP is their home now – and has been for years.
So of course they will support the GOP nominee.

It was inevitable. Still, it’s kind of funny to see them squirm now based on previous condemnations of McCain.

What’s the matter – Dobson not getting any attention so he has to put himself in the news? Would seem so to me.

It is fascinating to see both the right-wing radio talk shows and the Religious Right both become irrelevant in this election.
Whenever they speak, people hear ‘the problem’ speaking.
It just seems like the Republicans have lost their thunder.
To call Obama a socialist harkens back to the Cold War, but all Obama’s new supporters were barely born then, so it is meaningless. They’ve never known a ‘threat to capitalism.’
Is the Religious Right becoming as anachronistic as the Godless communists?
A true anachronism forming before our eyes.
